End-2-End Automotive Supply Chain: Between Digital Industrialization and Analog Existence Issues

Prof. Dr. Stefan Iskan | Founder supplychainmachine.com

  • Short description

Inflation, capacity shortages, decarbonization, geo-strategic relocation of the automotive supply network and cyber attacks. At the same time, digitalization is in full swing in factories. Cash must be secured, partnerships along the value chain of the automotive supply chain must be consolidated. The future viability of OEMs, suppliers and their logistics service providers depends largely on their ability to realize end-2-end supply chain control internally and externally directed in an end-to-end networked manner and industrialized across all tier-n stages. Those who can achieve this incredible system integration performance will be at the top. In products as well as in the supply chain. But aren't the challenges in the automotive supply chain more analogous in nature?

How spatial information enables the digital factory twin of the future

Sebastian Hilsenbeck | Head of Positioning & Mobile / Co-Founder, NavVis GmbH

  • Short description

The factory of the future isn’t only a physical space, it's also an interconnected, digital experience that is accessible from anywhere in the world, from the shop floor to an office across the globe. To realize this vision, the latest breakthroughs in 3D scanning allow manufacturers to create accurate digital models of factories as they are today, not how they were years ago. In this talk, Sebastian Hilsenbeck dives into this topic, discussing how spatial data and 3D mapping play key roles in the implementation of a digital factory twin and the benefits it provides for manufacturing companies. He specifically will go over use cases in the areas of repair & maintenance, lean production & continuous improvement, as well as layout planning - with an outlook on augmented reality on the shop floor.

Factory Analytics Services: Sustainable value creation with IIoT-based services

Dr. Bernd Voelpel | Global Head of Smart Factory Group, Leadec

  • Short description

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is changing the playing field of the manufacturing industry. IIoT-based services can prevent production downtimes, increase quality and minimise risks. Combined with a digitalised end-to-end service offering, Leadec as a neutral service specialist realises new, scalable value creation potential.

By means of innovative business models, Leadec enables all participants in the factory ecosystem - such as customers and partners - to participate in this sustainable value creation. The presentation illustrates this with successful examples from practice.

Consistent data and store floor management in the BMW Group iFactory

Dr. Nela Murauer | Head of Shopfloor Management & Maintenance bei BMW Group

  • Short description

The presentation will explain current digitization projects in the BMW Group's store floor management. The thematic deep dive will be embedded in the iFactory. Here, BMW summarizes its projects in the LEAN, GREEN and DIGITAL directions. The BMW iFactory will be applied throughout the BMW network and take production to the next level. At the heart of the networked software systems and app landscape in production is the "T-Cube," which provides a platform for working on the store floor with globally consistent KPIs and the digital process board. Documentation and the continuous improvement process are thus bundled in a single tool that can be used throughout the BMW network. This enables flexible and sustainable manufacturing, with less downtime and reduced personnel expenses.

Production as a Service - Accelerating the Next Generation of Manufacturing

Dr. Phillipp Hypko | FlexFactory GmbH

  • Short description

The production of the future offers many opportunities for manufacturing companies, but also requires a high level of investment. This goes hand in hand with market and product risks, which must be assessed and taken into account by a company at the same time. Production as a Service (PaaS) responds to these challenges by entering a new business model within production. Production facilities are financed by investors and are available to producers as required. Automated and highly flexible production is required as a basis for this. FlexFactory bundles the relevant skills from the areas of production technology, digitization, financing and risk hedging to enable companies to get started with Production as a Service. The first real examples of this approach show how the next generation of manufacturing works in a highly efficient and thus also economically profitable manner.

From Lean Manufacturing to Smart Factory - Measurable results in 8 weeks

Lukas Weber | Sonic Technology AG

  • Short description

Many manufacturing companies ask themselves how they can make their factories future-proof and efficient. Although digitization promises enormous savings potential in theory, this is not tapped into in 7 out of 10 projects. The lecture summarizes the quintessence of various successful transformations. Practical and inspiring.

The production of the future: digital, efficient, sustainable and flexible

Keynote: Dr. Joerg Burzer   Member of the Board of Mercedes-Benz AG, responsible for Production and Supply Chain Management

  • Short description

Digital, flexible, highly efficient and sustainable: Mercedes-Benz wants to actively shape and advance the automobile production of the future. With the MO360 digital ecosystem, Mercedes-Benz ensures complete transparency of the production processes. The CO2-neutral production in all of our own plants worldwide sets new standards for sustainability in automobile production. Likewise, Mercedes-Benz production is characterized by maximum flexibility and, thanks to highly flexible structures, produces vehicles with different drive types on one line. The Factory 56 is our blueprint for the production of the future.
